Did you think you were this much of an inspiration to this person in your life?

No, not at all.

How does the person who nominated you affect your life?

She is my best friend and one person I know I can rely on through my troubles and triumphs. If ever I need some to listen and not judge, be supportive and a shoulder to cry on she is the first person I call. Unfortunately we are in different states and don’t see each other as often as we like but I know no matter how far the distance I can rely on her for anything and everything.

Explain in your own words what you do that is an inspiration. Try not to be modest!

To be honest I haven’t been asked this before so makes it difficult to answer. The one thing I can say is everything I wanted this far in my life I have achieved. I take every opportunity I get to achieve my goals. From adjusting to Australia, a year after moving landing my first job part-time job, getting through university, buying my own car, landing a great job once finishing my degree and buying my first home. I have worked hard over the last ten years to achieve the goals set by myself.

Why do you do what you do? What drives you?

My Parents and taking every opportunity I get as I know how hard my parents worked to bring us to a new country for a better life. Everything I do is to make my family proud especially my parents knowing what they have sacrificed leaving loved ones behind, working hard for so many years so their kids could have a better future. I work hard which is inspired by my mainly my dad. My motivation is my family and the family I will have in the future. I want to provide my kids with a better future and allow them all the opportunities in the world as my parent have with their kids. I don’t like to fail as I take every opportunity presented as a blessing.

What are your core values?

Truth, Love, trust and respect. My parents have instilled these values into me from the time I can remember. I believe respect builds character. In order to receive respect you have to show this first. Regardless of age, gender or status. All the values mentioned are what I base my relationships on. I feel like this is what has lead me to where I am today. I treat people the way I would like to be treated. I treat my job as a blessing and work my hardest so I don’t let the people around me down. I put myself in other shoes on a day to day basis and try and meet their expectations so I don’t let those around me down.

When was the last time you did something for yourself?

I cannot remember. The last time I had a great relaxing experience was last May, my partner bought me a spa voucher for my birthday and that was the most relaxing experience I have ever had. I don’t do much for myself, I prefer to spend on others like my niece and nephew and the rest of my family. I am a saver which has helped me buying a house and that has been my focus over the last couple of years.

Outline your perfect ‘me time’. A hot bath with candles? Or perhaps just a walk by yourself to reflect?

This would me sitting on the beach with a cocktail and a book. I enjoy reading, arts and crafts or trying new activities but don’t find the time to do this anymore.

What inspires you in day-to-day life?

My Family. If they are happy I am too. What ever I can do to add to their happiness I will try and do this. Which is why all my goals are focused on making them proud as I know my parents etc have not had the opportunities that are available to me. My aim is to work harder and achieve more so I can one day financially help my parents so they can enjoy retirement as they have and are still working hard to have a better life.

Which of the prize excites you most? Is it learning a new activity? Or maybe you are looking forward to having meals cooked for you!

I love to learn new things. I think the more knowledge and life experience you have the better. Relaxing probably sounds like the best part.
