“Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.” ~ B.K.S. Iyengar
If you’ve been participating in yoga classes, but would like to continue with home practice, here is a great little sequence to start off with.
This sequence is called Sun Salutation C, I like it because the lunges offer you the opportunity to get into the front of your hips – a place of tightness for many of us…great for post gym, running, cycling etc
Here are a few tips I shared recently with a few of our past guests who are carrying out their 40 days of yoga after visiting us at Escape Haven.
1) Remember your breath – inhale on the upward rising movement, exhale on the downward rising movement.
2) Spend a few breaths in plank to build strength and set your alignment, with strong legs and core, and packing/plugging the head of the arm bones into the shoulder socket, push the floor away and extend the chest forward to ‘smile’ the collarbones apart.
