There’s absolutely nothing wrong with having a break from your yoga practice – however, feeling guilty about getting back into it after time off can really play on your mind. Here’s a little Hip Opening pose to refresh the body and calm the mind so you can slowly but surely resume your practice!

Sleeping Swan
This pose externally rotates the femur of the front leg and stretches all the muscle and connective tissue on the lateral side of the buttock and thigh (I.T.Band). It also gently stretches the hip flexors of the rear leg. Hold Sleeping Swan three to five minutes and then change sides. Do this pose in the evening before bed.
Benefit: stimulates the energy flow for Gall Bladder and Liver meridians/energy channel, emotionally connect with anger.
Tips: use a bolster or folded blanket under the hips or under the chest if you’re not flexible enough to rest the hips and chest on the floor.
