Four Simple Questions to Change Your Relationship With Time

When we are experiencing change, it is easy for us to feel overwhelmed, like we have no time to invest in the things we love. The truth is, we all have 24 hours in a day. Sure, some of us have more demands on our time than others, but there are ALWAYS opportunities for us, with some creative thinking, to regain some time to really invest in the areas that will move our life forward.

Are there areas in your life that you wish to expand or enhance? Perhaps its time with your kids, or more time spent on self development or your relationship or perhaps enhancing your career? The tool below will help you create more time to do this. It is such a simple yet powerful way of focussing on how you can reduce time spent in some areas that can then be dedicated to other areas that you want to grow and develop. It’s also something you can put into practice immediately and start seeing the benefits.

Below you see four areas that it focusses on. Sometimes its not about stopping doing something but rather doing less of it. For example, as a mum I know that the school runs to daycare and back take up a lot of time. I won’t stop these but perhaps I can do less of them and car pool with a neighbour. Or maybe you are guilty, like most of us, of an early morning or mid-afternoon scroll through social media. Before you know it, 30 minutes has gone by in your scrolling daze. By reducing one of these social media periods, again you’ve freed up more time for yourself. You don’t have to stop it, but reduce the time spent.

Upon evaluation there may be things that you do want to stop completely that upon reflection you see don’t really help you achieve your goals. Some of us may have the luxury of stopping working one day in the office and instead working from home thereby gaining some precious hours you have saved on the commute, or perhaps its something smaller like going to bed so late and instead turning in before 9pm so you wake up earlier and thus have created more time to be productive and follow your passions in the morning, before work. These are all just some examples that are illustrative. Now its up to you to download the task sheet.
