I love celebrating international women’s day. As a female business owner thats in business to support women in a company of (predominantly) women, it’s such a passion of mine to see women succeed.
It’s always a reflective time for me and I wanted to share some common roadblocks I had to face on my own journey.
Here are three things that I had to learn in past 15 years of being a Female Business owner.
1. Good decisions equal good success
One of the biggest reasons business fail is a chain of bad decisions- these aren’t necessarily big ones either, rather a chain of small seemingly insignificant decisions that can lead you waaaaay off track. i know i’ve been there when i lost all my life savings in my first year of business!
2. Be careful of your ‘drains’
Having a supportive circle, a healthy relationship with your partner/friends, good health and sleep. These are all key to enable good decisions as well as your ensuring your mindset is right.
3. Get your mindset right
You will never outperform your own self esteem. if you think you can you will. if you think you can’t, the same is true! it’s the confidence gap that often exists between men and women. Just get in the arena and take action.
It doesn’t mean you aren’t scared as success always means risk but there is a difference when you know you’ll give it your all because you believe in yourself no matter what the outcome.
Or as my 7 year old daughter indii says:’ of course you can- ‘remember it’s a ‘yet’ you just haven’t done it ‘yet’!
Let me know if these resonate or add your own below.
