are you living on autopilot 1

Can you believe we’re halfway through the year already?

June always feels like a beautiful moment to pause and catch our breath. A little exhale in the middle of the year. A soft invitation to check in with ourselves and ask: How am I really doing?

At the start of 2025, maybe you sat down with a cup of tea or joined me on our live workshop and filled in your Annual Growth Review. Or maybe you simply jotted down a few intentions, hoping to bring more joy, balance or clarity into your life. Whether you’ve been following those intentions closely or haven’t looked at them since January, this mid-year moment is the perfect time to reset with kindness and curiosity.

When I first developed an Annual Growth Review years ago, it was because I needed a space to step back and reflect, not just at the end of the year, but throughout the year. Running a business like Escape Haven can feel like a constant wave of movement, so carving out moments of stillness has become essential to staying aligned with what really matters.

And that’s what I want to invite you to do with me now.

Go back to those seven simple but powerful questions from the workbook:

  1. What were three moments this year that brought you pure joy?
  2. Who are the three people who impacted your life in a positive way this year?
  3. When was the last time you did something for the first time?
  4. What were your “tank toppers” this year?
  5. What activities, people, or projects consistently drained energy from your life?
  6. What were the biggest obstacles you faced this year that stopped you from reaching your goals?

Even just reading those again makes me pause. Because life moves so quickly, we set intentions and then get swept into our routines, our obligations, our “shoulds.” But growth doesn’t always look like a straight line. Sometimes it’s messy. Sometimes it means resting instead of pushing. Or changing direction completely.

So if some of the goals you set in January are still sitting untouched, that’s okay. This isn’t a productivity check-in. It’s a soul check-in.

Ask yourself gently: Are these goals still aligned with who I am now?

Have your desires shifted? Has life surprised you? Are you carrying goals that actually belong to someone else?

Maybe your word of the year feels like a distant memory. Or maybe it’s been a quiet companion all along, nudging you toward little decisions that feel more like you.

Whatever the case, now is your chance to recalibrate—not by overhauling everything, but by making space for what matters most. Often that starts with the smallest shifts. Saying no more often. Moving your body in ways that feel joyful. Making time for silence. Choosing connection over distraction. Giving yourself grace.

At Escape Haven, I see this shift happen again and again on retreat. Women arrive feeling tired, unsure, stuck. And after a few days of nourishing food, yoga, stillness, sleep, laughter, they remember who they are. They reconnect. And from that place, everything starts to flow more easily.

You don’t have to come to Bali to find that (though of course, we’d love to have you!). This mid-year moment can be your own little retreat: a moment to tune in, realign, and remind yourself what really matters.

So take a breath. Light a candle. Pull out your journal or download the Growth Review Workbook again. Let this be your invitation to check in, not because you should, but because you deserve to feel aligned, empowered, and deeply connected to your own path.

Here’s to a nourishing, intentional second half of the year.
